Standard vs. Large Symbols

We offer two symbol size options for our cross stitch patterns:

Standard Symbols: These are slightly bigger than market sized symbols and designed to fit more of the chart on each A4 page—ideal if you prefer fewer pages and are comfortable with regular-sized symbols.

Large Symbols: About 30% bigger than our standard version, large symbols are easier on the eyes—perfect for comfortable stitching! Because they're printed on A4 paper as well, they take up more pages to show the same pattern, but many find them much easier to follow.

14-count vs 18-count Aida

14-count Aida: 14 stitches per inch; larger holes make it easier for beginners. Finished pieces are bigger.

18-count Aida: 18 stitches per inch; smaller holes give more detail but can be harder to work with. Finished pieces are smaller.

What is the skill level of this design?

We don’t label our designs by skill level because we believe anyone can stitch them—thanks to our clear, easy-to-follow charts. With the exception of larger pieces like the 21" x 25" Nova Orbis Tabula, most of our kits are suitable even for beginners.

If you're new to cross stitch, you can use the size of the design as a guide: the larger the piece, the more time and dedication it may take. To ease in, try our bookmarks, minis, or circular kits. Medium-sized projects (around 11–14 inches) also make a great place to start!

Our 14-count gridded Aida fabric is designed to make your stitching faster and easier! 🧵✨

It features pre-marked grid lines every 10 stitches, created using removable monofilament threads. These fine threads act as a temporary guide to help you count accurately and keep your place, reducing mistakes and speeding up your workflow.

Once you’ve finished stitching, just gently pull out the grid threads—no marks left behind!

Perfect for large or complex patterns, especially full coverage designs where counting accurately really matters.

Is your design printed on fabric?

All of our designs are Counted Cross Stitch, not stamped, so you will need to refer to the chart and stitch on a blank Aida fabric.

Much needed

In 2016, I bought this kit and was really struggling to finish this as my chart was in black and white. I could do only 25% and I thought that it wouldn't be so minute but after struggling I decided to get the colour chart to make things little easier. Please make a 10count or 11count cross stitch for people who love cross stitch but find difficulty with 14 or 18count cross stitch. Thanks.

Hi there, our charts can be done on any count fabric. You can stitch on 10, 11, 14, 18, 28 count, any count you like with the same chart. Any cross stitch pattern from anywhere can be done on any count you like. There is no difference in the charting or the symbols. The only difference is the final size of the design. For my kits, I only provide 14 and 18 count as those are the most popular fabrics but since you have purchased a PDF, you can purchase any fabric count you like and use the design on it.

This is my wife's favourite opera and so when I saw this kit, I had to get it. I'm so glad I did, this is a wonderful kit: The pattern is clear and easy to read, the fabric and threads are excellent quality and the extras are a really welcome and thoughtful bonus - 4 needles, a needle threader, a bobbin of metallic thread for highlighting and a full and comprehensive set of paperwork all in a very useful sealable pouch.
The delivery was astoundingly fast and I was kept fully informed on progress.
