Café Terrace at Night is one of Vincent van Gogh's most beloved works, painted in 1888 during his stay in Arles, France. The painting depicts a café terrace on the Place du Forum in Arles, bathed in the golden glow of lantern light. Tables are set up for evening patrons, and figures sit and stand, engaged in quiet conversation or going about their evening. The scene extends beyond the terrace to include cobblestone streets, buildings, and a starry sky above. Despite the absence of obvious action, the painting feels alive, buzzing with a quiet vibrancy.

If you're new to cross stitch, you can use the size of the design as a guide: the larger the piece, the more time and dedication it may take. To ease in, try our bookmarks, minis, or circular kits. Medium-sized projects (around 11–14 inches) also make a great place to start!

Absolutely! You can stitch our designs on any fabric count, not just 14 or 18-count. The only changes will be the finished size and thread needed. If you need fabric or thread calculations for a different count, just let us know—we’re happy to help!
